The City of Canal Winchester, with Canal Winchester Senior Citizens, Inc. and VFW Post 10523 will host a Veterans Walk and Ceremony on Saturday November 7. The public and members of the media are invited to join veterans, city officials, and guests for this patriotic event.
Veterans Walk & Ceremony, 10:00 A.M.
A Veterans March will begin at the Canal Winchester Area Historical Complex and continue down High Street turning right on Columbus Street and proceeding to the alley and then the green space behind Stradley Park.
A ceremony at Stradley Place (located next to Canal Winchester Municipal Office Building at 36 S. High Street in downtown Canal Winchester) will be held immediately following the veterans march. Highlights will include a special performance of our National Anthem by Mike Walker, a 21 Gun Salute, and the playing of Taps. 2017 Keynote speaker Warren Motts will address the crowd.
November 9 veterans celebration will also feature a free pancake breakfast for veterans and their families, including widows and widowers, at the Frances Steube Community Center from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
