SUMMARY:Jacob Perez & the Boy Howdies\, West Taylor & Aidan Robinson
DESCRIPTION:Jacob Perez is a songwriter living in Cincinnati\, OH. On his fourth outing\, he's teamed up with Timothy Edward Carpenter to craft album that feels both spare and lush\, crafting soundscapes full of acoustic guitars\, synths and drum machines\, guided by the through line of Jacob's conversational tenor. Give Up Everything You Got! was written over the summers of '24 and '25\, borne of many walks through the neighborhood where Jacob has lived for seven years. Walking has become an essential part of his songwriting practice\, a time to let the mind whir through memories\, parsing past lives and imagining the future. Across ten songs\, Perez spins short vignettes which blur the lines between biography and fiction. These characters watch their neighborhoods change\, experience the effects of climate change and inequality\, grow up and give up. Much like Ray Bradbury's "Dandelion Wine\," Perez considers summer as both a time of profound freedom and a signpost that nothing lasts forever.\n \n\nWest Taylor is a songwriter\, multi-instrumentalist\, record producer and audio engineer. Growing up on Deer Creek outside of Mt. Sterling\, Ohio\, West was heavily influenced by the Appalachian voices he heard in the church as he looked up to the archetypal singing cowboys he and his grandfather watched on TV. West continues the reverberation of his love for Mountain Music and the Country cassettes his family listened to on the road.\n \n\nAidan Robinson is a Columbus OH based singer songwriter. Described by critics as "the still-beating heart of American folk" his music is like the gen z response to John Prine and Guy Clark.
